Callistemon x hybrid
Green Envy
PBR CS003 pending

Callistemon Green Envy is a selected dwarf form of Callistemon viminalis. It is a hardy low maintenance shrub with attractive greener foliage and mass bottlebrush red flowers appear in autumn; it is compact and smaller in habit than other varieties.

POSITION: Grows in full sun to part shade and is adaptable to most clay, loam and well drained soils.

CONDITIONS: Soil pH: 4.5 to 6.5

Soil preparation: Soil can range from quite acid to alkaline in pH levels, it is important to have good soil preparation to gain the best results when planting natives. This improves the water-holding capacity of the soil and for young plants, once established, will have lower water requirements.

Soil is classified into three groups -

CARE: It is best to initially feed with a slow release fertiliser to help establish when first planted. Mulching around the base of the plant will help retain moisture and suppress weeds. In hydrophobic soils use water crystals & wetting agent in the planting stage and follow up with a re-application when required.

USES: Small shrub useful where low screening is required for parks and gardens. Excellent small border hedgeing plant. Great for domestic & commercial landscapes.
