Lomandra species
Lime Tuff

Lomandra Lime Tuff is a compact selection of Lomandra longifolia x confertifolia spp. pallida; with fine lime green leaves that stay lush all year round. In summer fragrant small yellow flower spikes emerge. This plant is extremely hardy and tolerates frost and dry conditions.

POSITION: Grows in full sun to part shade and is adaptable to most clay, loam and well drained soils and performs well under trees.

CONDITIONS: Soil pH: 4.5 to 7.0

Soil preparation: Soil can range from quite acid to alkaline in pH levels, it is important to have good soil preparation to gain the best results when planting natives. This improves the water-holding capacity of the soil and for young plants, once established, will have lower water requirements.

Soil is classified into three groups -

CARE: This very hardy compact tufted plant requires little maintenance. It is best to initially feed with a slow release low phosphorus fertiliser to help establish when first planted. Mulching around the base of the plant will help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

USES: Lomandra Lime Tuff is excellent to use for contrast low level plantings where height restrictions are required in urban streetscapes. Lime Tuff can be used to create borders; or for understory planting in the home garden. Lomandra Lime Tuff's foliage stays lush all year round and is a no maintenance plant; as this Lomandra never requires pruning.
